DENVER.
What. a. city. There is so much I can say about our trip to this beautiful city.
1. the ipad was a MUST. Adam did so much research ahead of time and it was SO helpful. we just looked up where we wanted to go, found out how to walk there and went. We saved so much time by knowing places we wanted to get coffee/visit and nto searching for them.
2. Trip Advisor was key. We visited some of the best restaurants and coffee shops because of advice from that site. Our favorite pizza place, osterica marco, or something like that was reasonably priced and was delicious. thanks, trip advisor.
3. weather was beautiful. it rained the first afternoon we got there and we huddled under an overhang with a lot of other coloradians at the festival downtown until the shower stopped. Afterwards, we headed out to the 27th floor of he Hyatt and WHAT A VIEW! the sunset was to die for and because of the rain, the clouds just made the colors standout. On our drive up to rocky mtn national park, the sky was crystal blue and the contrast against the green and grey mountains was delightful. we got lucky with the weather.
4. Summit Denver. met with the pastor, went to church, went out to dinner afterwards and loved it all. Really good vision and support and the Lord is just present there. The members are devoted and caring and have open arms, they really encouraged us to move.
5. Dinners with Adam. we both love food, but dinners were just more romantic and intriguing in a new city. so much people watching to do, so many adventures to talk about, so many new thoughts in my head, so much good food in my belly. splendid.
6. Rockies game at coors field- using a pedicab to get there
7. Local craft breweries, good bottles of wine, pinkberry, lattes, cappuccinos, coffees, croissants, and more.
8. Shopping. we had all of Sunday morning off since church was in the afternoon and we decided to do a little shopping. :) It was fun to try on clothes, get Adams opinion, dress him up and enjoy the opportunities of these stores in a new city.
In all, the trip had no big problems or stresses. We felt like we were able to see a lot of the city in the four days we were there. Adventure and spontaneity and precious moments with the husband. success. Thanks to Adam for all his planning and searching, it made the trip so much easier and gave us mroe time to have fun. Love you babe.
We bought a new cribbage board at Rocky Mtn National Park visitor center and have LOVED playing. We played a lot at the airport while waiting to board planes and such. Even now at home we will eat dinner together and play a game afterwards to wind down. Adam is getting pretty good and has even beaten me a few times. He's almost ready for Stinson Beach trip 2012. :)
The worst part was coming home. One of our yellow guppies died and was lying face up on the bottom of the tank. We said our farewells and flushed him down the sink. We noticed that this orange guppy was looking a little scrawny and two days later he disappeared. literally. we couldn't find him. SO, our one lonely yellow guppy is left. Since the only assumption we can make is that he ate our orange guppy, we finally named him. His name is Darwin. He is the fittest to survive. Maybe we'll add to his tank in the next few weeks, but he needs some alone time for now to be in time out. sigh. goodbye other two fishies.
